The meeting of Gruntvig project partners took place in Lisbon and Leiria, Portugal

The first partnership meeting of a Grundtvig project "Integration, Volunteerism and Adult Learning, through an Intercultural Pathway" (IVALIP) was hosted by Intercultura-AFS Portugal and held in Lisboa and Leiria, from November 13th to 17th, 2008.

12 participants came to this meeting from all organizations involved in IVALIP project - Intercultura-AFS Portugal (Portugal), Polish Humanitarian Organisation (Poland), Giresun Halk Egitimi Merkezi ve Aso Mudurlugu (Turkey), Foundation Institute of Transnational Education and Research (Slovakia) and Association LIA / Langas į ateitį (Lithuania).

During the meeting partners presented their own organizations, volunteerism situation, local minorities and social disadvantaged groups situations in each country. From these presentations participants had an opportunity to know more about other organizations (their missions and aims, activities, structure, etc.) and countries, to share each partner knowledge and experience in main project issues. Also decisions regarding project dissemination products, partners' tasks, next phase activities and meetings were made.

Beside work host partners organized cultural activities and showed beautiful views of Portugal. Participants from other countries got a chance to visit St. George'sCastle and a part of the Old Lisbon, nice town Leiria, local desserts and sweets fair at Alcobaca Monastery, amazing Batalha Monastery and Nazare - a small town near the Atlantic Ocean, where the day was ended with a beautiful sunset.

This Learning Partnership project "Integration, Volunteerism and Adult Learning, Through an Intercultural Pathway" is implemented under Grundtvig programme which is a part of Lifelong Learning Programme.

This project has been funded with support from the European Commission.

Lithuanians are actively improving knowledge of safer internet

Lithuanian adults are interested in the possibility to gain computer literacy and safer internet knowledge. On-line computer literacy courses attracted over 1000 participants during this summer. The most popular is the training about safer internet (675 participants).

The e-Day for PIAP network partners was held in Gargždai

On 11 November 2008 the event for PIAP network partners was organized in Gargždai, Klaipėda district.

During the conference different subjects were discussed - national PIAP network, usage of e-Services, implemented projects and new initiatives for the development of the information society.

 

International TuCoDe conference

On 21 April 2009 the international conference "New services and initiatives for Public internet access points" was organized by Baltic Technology Education Institute. It was the final event of a Leonardo da Vinci project "Tutors Competence Development for RIAPs Users - TuCoDe".

Langas į ateitį is further participating in Safer Internet programme

Langas į ateitį is participating in implementation of Safer Internet programme. It is a programme with the objective to call the society's attention to information of illegal and harmful content on the Internet related to violations such as pornography, paedophilia, racism, and xenophobia envisaged by Lithuanian law. Particular attention is being attached to protection of children and adolescents from the harmful content of the Internet.

Participation in an Exhibition of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region Conference
