Digital skills for every European: Telecentre Europe becomes ALL DIGITAL

Since 2010 association “Langas į ateitį” is a member of Telecentre Europe network which is a leading European organisation in the field of digital skills. Celebrating ten years of partnerships, campaigns and development, Telecentre Europe has become ALL DIGITAL.

The ALL DIGITAL network represents 25,000 digital competence centres in 32 European countries that work together with three million people every year. The network targets 170 million Europeans who have an insufficient level of digital skills to empower and support them in gaining digital skills to benefit from online services, to find work, to have a better quality of life or to be fully included in today’s digital society.

Mara Jakobsone, Chair of the ALL DIGITAL Board, said, “Over the last 10 years we have been guided by a set of strategic goals. In a fast-changing digital society, our organization needs to keep pace and redefine itself towards new challenges and opportunities. We have a new vision that builds on the past and looks to the future. A vision that addresses the current and upcoming skills shortages of Europe. A vision we all embrace, and a new identity – ALL DIGITAL.”

The organization has come a long way; back in 2007, a small group of digital inclusion leaders met for the first time in Barcelona to talk about scaling up local and national initiatives and the potential of a thematic network at European level. Ten years later, this is one of the major European associations in the field of digital skills.

Laurentiu Bunescu, CEO of ALL DIGITAL explained, “ALL DIGITAL is a reflection of our vision that every European should be able to exploit the benefits and opportunities created by digital transformation. ALL DIGITAL is therefore about people, organisations and communities empowered to create, collaborate, and grow without facing the barriers of digital and social exclusion.”

Mara concluded, “We are grateful to our members, partners, stakeholders for the part they have played in our success, and we look forward to working together in the future.”
