Langas į ateitį hosted Grundtvig project partners in Vilnius, Lithuania

The third meeting of a Grundtvig Learning Partnership project “Integration, Volunteerism and Adult Learning through an Intercultural Pathway” - IVALIP was hosted by Association LIA / Langas į ateitį and held in Vilnius (Lithuania) on May 6-10, 2009.
21 person participated in this meeting from all partner organizations: Intercultura-AFS Portugal (4 people), Polish Humanitarian Organization, Poland (4 people), Giresun Halk Egitimi Merkezi ve Aso Mudurlugu, Turkey (4 people), Foundation Institute of Transnational Education and Research, Slovakia (3 people) and Association LIA / Langas į ateitį, Lithuania (6 people).
The main objective of this third meeting was to organize the seminar for the volunteer trainers in non-formal adult education. The train-the-trainer seminar lasted two whole working days and was mainly facilitated by Intercultura-AFS Portugal partners. Additionally other project partners also presented their workshop activities.
During the seminar various training activities were presented and tested in practice with active involvement of all meeting participants. The main seminar themes were following: ice-breaking and team building of a group; defining formal / non-formal / in-formal education; defining roles of teacher, trainer and facilitator; differences among communities/cultures; designing a training in non-formal education considering all necessary attributes (structure, recourses, etc.); evaluation.
These themes were presented using various methodologies including discussions, group work, practical tasks, games, physical activities, conclusion making, SWOT analysis, etc.
In the last day of the seminar different project organizational and practical issues about the first year project results and objectives achieved, next phase activities, first year partnership report, future tasks and other were discussed.
Besides productive and useful work project partners had an opportunity to know Lithuania and its capital Vilnius better. The trips around old town of Vilnius and to ancient Lithuanian capital Trakai were organized. Finally the third partners’ meeting was closed with cultural dinner in a Lithuanian national restaurant.
This Learning Partnership project “Integration, Volunteerism and Adult Learning, Through an Intercultural Pathway” is implemented under Grundtvig programme which is a part of Lifelong Learning Programme.
